Dr Jitin Dhawan (m)
Jitin has worked in west Essex for four years and is a partner at Market Square Surgery where he is prescribing lead for the surgery.
He attended Kings College London to complete his medical training and graduated in 2008. He has been involved with the practice for many years and has a very strong knowledge of the local area and the needs of the population. He enjoys continuity of care and aims to get to know his patients to ensure a long term doctor patient relationship. He is passionate about offering a professional, confidential and high level of service and is dedicated to putting patients and their families first.
Jitin completed his foundation programme in Margate and Woolwich before deciding to take up Vocational Training in General Practice at Medway Maritime Hospital and completed this in 2013. He has a good understanding regarding the demands placed on both GPs and hospital doctors and the pressures both face. This knowledge and experience has helped to create a more seamless transition of care between primary and secondary care to our local population. |
Dr David Roberts (m)

This dedicated and engaging GP with a special interest in dermatology and minor surgery has now worked for Market Square for over three years. He sees all general medical cases, and has a specialist interest in dermatology, skin surgery, joint injections, and child health. He also sees patients for antenatal checks, child surveillance and contraceptive advice.
When asked what he liked best about his work, he said "I think we have the best job in the world. It is a true privilege for us to be allowed to partake in other people's lives, and if we can help, even in a very small way, that is very special. In this world where the NHS must be increasingly efficient, and where the GP is now the only Generalist medical role, we must act more as a community primary care physician than the old fashioned pastoral family doctor. Given this, the consultation time with the patient is still the best part of the job."
About Market Square he said "A good working environment is critical for a team to thrive, and team-work is the cornerstone of a business set to overcome challenges. I have worked in several General Practices, and the team work here is the best I have ever experienced. When you add that fact to the genuine care and dedication of all the team members, I think everyone here has created a very special environment indeed. They all thoroughly deserve their excellent reputation.”
